Arts, Recreation & Community Policies Committee

STANDING COMMITTEE

The Arts, Recreation & Community Policies Committee studies and reports to council on policy matters including, but not limited to:

  • Accessibility.
  • Animal control, including enforcement.
  • Arts, including cultural issues related to theatre and museum.
  • Community programs including recreation; cultural programs and special events.
  • Health and safety.
  • Emergency planning, policing, fire services.
  • Social services.
  • School crossing guards.
  • Day care.
  • Cemeteries.
  • General bylaw enforcement.
  • Social housing, including seniors and nursing homes.
  • Social services, including Ontario Works.
  • Children's Services and programs.
  • Long-term residential care and seniors' issues.
  • And, further, to consider such similar matters as may be directed by council, or referred by the City Clerk from time to time.
