BIOGRAPHY

Mark Gerretsen was elected to Portsmouth district on Nov. 13, 2006.

Councillor Gerretsen received his Bachelor's degree in Economics from Queen's University. His future educational plans include returning as a graduate student to pursue a master's degree in Politics.

Currently self employed as a property manager, he has represented landlords on the municipality's affordable housing committee since 2004.

Born in Kingston, Councillor Gerretsen has been exposed to politics his whole life. His father John Gerresten represented this same city district 35 years ago and is currently the elected liberal MPP representing Kingston and the Islands.
