BIOGRAPHY
William (Bill) Glover was elected representative for Sydenham district on Nov. 13, 2006.
Councillor Glover has served as chair and vice-chair of the Sydenham Ward Tenants' and Ratepayers' Association. A maritime historian who has specialized in 20th-century Canadian naval history, he is currently conducting research on 18th-century navigation and hydrography, and is editor of The Northern Mariner/Le marin du nord, an academic journal published by the Canadian Nautical Research Society.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Queen's University and a Master of Arts and PhD from the University of London in England.
Councillor Glover was born in Winnipeg and moved to Kingston in 2000 upon retirement from the Canadian navy. He lives in Sydenham district with Laird, his red border collie.
