Election Day for all municipalities in the Province of Ontario is Monday, October 25, 2010. On this day voters in the City of Kingston will elect a Mayor, City Council members, and School Board Trustees to represent them in this community for the next four (4) years.

Advance voting days are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 16, and Wednesday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Polling station locations will be announced at a later date.)

The term of office is December 1, 2010 to November 30, 2014.

Kingston City Council:

  • Mayor
  • Councillors (1 for each of the 12 districts)

School Board Trustees:

  • English Public - Limestone District School Board (5 trustees)
    1. Countryside, Pittsburgh, and Frontenac Islands
    2. Loyalist-Cataraqui, Collins-Bayridge, Lakeside
    3. Portsmouth and Trillium
    4. Cataraqui, Kingscourt-Strathcona and Kings Town
    5. Williamsville and Sydenham
  • English Separate - Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board (4 trustees)
  • French Public - le Conseil des écoles publiques de l'Est de l'Ontario (1 trustee)
  • French Separate - le Conseil des écoles catholiques de langue française du Centre-Est (1 trustee)

Election Office

The 2010 Election Office is now open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It is located in the West Wing on the first floor of City Hall at 216 Ontario St.

The City's Assistant Returning Officer is John Bolognone, 613-546-4291 ext. 1610, and the Election Office Clerk is Charmaine Burrows, 613-546-4291 ext. 1611.
