Personal Support Worker

Salary:

$20.85 to $25.61 per hour

As a personal support worker you will:

  • As a team player, perform duties under the supervision of the registered staff.
  • Assist residents with emotional, social, spiritual and physical needs.
  • Provide personal care to residents including personal hygiene, nutritional needs, lifts and transfers.
  • Assist with resident activities and programs that promote resident centered and directed care.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Successful completion of the Personal Support Worker course.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with Long Term Care experience in the past two years.
  • Experience in the provision of the practical nursing care and working with seniors is preferred.
  • Experience in dementia and palliative care is an asset.
  • CPR, First Aid, Palliative and Alzheimer Care training is desirable.
  • Excellent client service skills.
  • Ability to work as an effective team member.
  • Ability to interact with seniors in a respectful manner.
  • Ability to be able to perform lifting, pushing and pulling with extreme effort is required as you should be in good physical condition.
  • A satisfactory CPIC (Criminal Police Check) - it will be required at your own expense at the time of hiring.
  • Include in resume additional courses or training related to working in a long-term care facility.
