Are you interested in serving on this committee?

Affordable Housing Development Committee: is committed to building capacity for adequate, affordable and accessible housing through progressive professional services, leadership, and developing lasting partnerships to enhance quality of life for all citizens and to provide adequate, affordable and accessible housing that responds to the diverse needs of all residents. This committee may appeal to individuals who are creative and action-oriented, have the ability to analyze information and provide relevant feedback, and interested in the community and its housing needs. The Committee meets on the third Thursday morning of every month at Community and Family Services, 362 Montreal Street.

Committee appointment shall be until Nov. 30, 2010.
Number of members of the public required: 1

To be eligible to serve on a Committee, you must qualify as a municipal elector by meeting the following qualifications:

  • a resident of the municipality, a non-resident owner or tenant of land in the municipality or the spouse of such non-resident owner or tenant;
  • a Canadian citizen;
  • at least 18 years old;
  • not legally prohibited from voting; and
  • not disqualified by any legislation from holding municipal office.

All applications must be received by April 13, 2010.

Personal information, as defined in the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA), is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act, 2001, and in accordance with MFIPPA. Personal information collected on the application form will be used to assist in selecting appointees for the various civic bodies and may form part of meeting agendas and minutes, and therefore may be made available to members of the public at meetings, through requests, and through the website of the Corporation of the City of Kingston.
