The City of Kingston Planning Committee will meet to discuss the matters listed below on Thursday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, City Hall, 216 Ontario St.

PUBLIC MEETINGS:

  • 234-236 Albert St. - 1003758 Ontario Ltd. - D14-176-2010
    Application for Zoning Bylaw Amendment to reduce the minimum required lot area and to recognize the existing non-complying exterior side yard setback.

BUSINESS (Items for Discussion/Recommendation):

  • 817 Division St. - Children's Aid Society - D14-157-2009
    Application for Zoning Bylaw Amendment to permit the construction of a three storey, 7,000 square metre, administrative office building. A portion of the office space may be leased to other similar social service agencies and a day care centre.
  • 1135 Maria Ave. - Tamarack (Cat West) Corp. D12-046-2009
    Application for Final Subdivision Approval to construct the first phase of a residential subdivision consisting primarily of single detached dwelling lots, but includes 47 townhouse lots.
  • 143 Union St. (Goodes Hall) - Queen's University - D14-116-2008
    Application for Zoning Bylaw Amendment to expand the existing School of Business building by adding a three storey, 20,280 square metre building with an underground parking garage on the west side of the former Victoria School building, now Goodes Hall.
  • City of Kingston Archaeological Master Plan
    Recommendations of the Plan include the establishment of planning policies, guidelines, and provisions for implementation. The documentation of sites in an Archaeological Master Plan includes the mapping of known archaeological sites and identifies the location of built heritage resources, traditional land use patterns, and site integrity mapping. The Plan also identifies the areas within the municipality where no further archaeological assessments are required. This report also includes a recommendation to amend the City's legal deposit bylaw for archaeological assessments to better ensure compliance and to ensure that municipal staff have the required information for the decision making process.
