NOTICE

Public Meeting: Backyard Hens

Details:

The Arts, Recreation, and Community Policies Standing Committee (ARC) will be hosting two public meetings in order to receive public input about backyard hens in urban areas.

Dates:

  • Thursday, June 24 at Woodbine Fire Hall, 905 Woodbine Rd.
  • Wednesday, July 21 at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour, 53 Yonge St.

Time: Public input regarding backyard hens will be received at 6 p.m. The ARC meetings will begin at 5 p.m. for regular business.

Written submissions are also encouraged and will be received at the beginning of the meetings. On June 18, a Your Opinion poll and comment opportunity will be available at www.cityofkingston.ca/backyardhens. Comments and concerns can also be emailed to Kim Leonard, Manager of Building and Licensing at kleonard@cityofkingston.ca or faxed to 613-546-1332. Comments will be received until July 24.

Following consideration of public comments, staff will be reporting back to ARC in August. Further information is posted on the City's website at www.cityofkingston.ca/meetings. Please check the website before attending the meetings in regards to any updates.
