Details:

Public invited to give feedback on design of Augusta Common Park New recreational space in Cataraqui North Neighbourhood to contain active and passive elements

The City wants the public's help deciding on design elements to be included in the Cataraqui North neighbourhood green space soon-to-be known as Augusta Common Park. A public meeting on the active and passive recreational features to be built into this space is set for 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23 in Meeting Room A at the INVISTA Centre, 1350 Gardiners Rd.

The design options to be discussed will be posted for review and Your Opinion comment at www.cityofkingston.ca/augusta by June 14. Comments on the design will be accepted until June 30.

At the meeting, City staff and the landscape architect they have been working with will offer an overview of the new park at Crossfield Avenue at Augusta Drive. Augusta Common Park will eventually link to two new parks planned for this recently developed residential area: Augusta Common West Park and Halifax Drive Park.

Some of the elements in the draft design include:

  • a gazebo
  • a spray pad
  • two play structures (one for smaller kids)
  • a Biggo Swing

Plan to get there by bus: www.cityofkingston.ca/tripplanner
