Public Notices
To satisfy certain requirements of Ontario's new Municipal Act — which came into effect on Jan. 1, 2003 — Kingston City Council passed a notice by-law specifying the minimum requirements for giving public notice of certain proposed actions before those actions are dealt with by Council or Committee of the Whole.
Notices will be posted on a regular basis outlining details of upcoming items to be discussed at Council or Committee of the Whole that have notice requirements under the Municipal Act 2001. These notices will outline the way in which members of the public can address Council regarding the subject matter. The Council and Committee of the Whole Agenda will continue to be posted regularly.
NOTE: Personal information collected as a result of responses to these public notices is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act and will be used to assist in making a decision on these matters.
AN OFFLINE OPTION: City of Kingston statutory notices also appear on Saturdays in the Classifieds section of The Kingston Whig-Standard newspaper.
