Construction will move from Ontario Street to King Street while the City of Kingston, Utilities Kingston and local contractors will work on Phase II of the Market Square Revitalization project.
The following streets will be closed as indicated while crews replace the underground storm and sanitary sewers, water main, gas and electric and the road surface on Brock Street and King Street. Please follow the detour signs around the construction site.

Kingston Transit routes 3, 4 and 12 will also be rerouted around the construction site. Please call (613) 546-0000 for more information on your transit route.
Businesses on Brock Street and King Street will remain open and accessible to pedestrian traffic. The Kingston Public Market will continue to operate on Clarence Street each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday throughout this phase of construction.
As recommended in the Downtown Action Plan, King Street, Brock Street and the Market Square area surrounding the skating rink will be finished in brick style pavers, rather than traditional asphalt pavement, with granite curbing separating the roadway from the pedestrian areas similar to Market Street - giving the entire area a unique look and feel of a historic cobblestone roadway.
