Rack And Roll Returns On All Kingston Transit Buses

April 1 marks the first day of Rack and Roll season for cyclists: starting tomorrow Kingston Transit's fleet will once again be equipped with the Rack and Roll bike-storage service.

"Burn calories, not gas: use cycle one way and ride Kingston Transit the other. The Rack and Roll program is a great way for Kingstonians to build some exercise into their routines while reducing carbon emissions," says Paula Nichols, Manager of Transit and Parking.

This year marks the fifth anniversary of this popular service, which allows cyclists to store their bikes on a rack attached to the front of a bus when they take transit. The service runs until the end of November (weather-permitting).

Nichols notes the service allows cyclists: to take their bikes to work to cycle at lunch; to switch to transit when the weather turns on them; to hop aboard a bus when they experience bike trouble; or to travel comfortably through high traffic areas.
