Pump House Steam Museum
The Pump House Steam Museum is located on the city's waterfront at 23 Ontario Street. The Museum first opened in 1973, over twenty years after it ceased operation as the city's water pumping station.
After extensive restoration by the Frontenac Society of Model Engineers, the museum was opened to the public as a centennial gift to the City of Kingston.

Accessibility At The Museum
Accessibility at the Pump House Steam Museum is limited due to the historic nature of the building and the industrial machinery it houses. Currently, the City of Kingston is working to improve access with the introduction of a number of modifications in the near future. The following list provides information about accessibility at the Museum for anyone planning a visit.
- The front door provides accessible entry on the upper level to the lobby and pump room. Access to the lower levels can be provided through the rear doors of the Museum with staff assistance.
- An accessibility lift is scheduled to be installed this fall to provide access between the upper and lower levels within the building.
- There are presently no accessible washrooms on site at the Museum.
- Access within the Museum is restricted in some areas due to the size and position of the historic water pumps that are permanent fixtures within the Museum.
- When booking a tour or planning a visit, please contact the Museum and staff will make every effort to accommodate accessibility requirements.
