Celebrating Kingston's Heritage By Sharing Its Stories

History and heritage are a major focus of the Kingston Culture Plan (KCP) approved by City Council in September 2010. It describes at length the need to promote the many incredible stories, events, landscapes and people contributing to making Kingston the unique community that it is. The KCP also identified the need to develop strategies that will allow all residents to share their stories and their knowledge of Kingston history with each other and the world.

Help Share Kingston's Stories

Finding ways to tell these stories and share this knowledge is not the responsibility of the City alone, but a shared responsibility that includes all Kingston residents, businesses and institutions along with the municipal government.

With so many significant anniversaries and celebrations coming up in the next few years, this process of gathering and sharing stories is getting underway with a brief opinion survey below to help identify those things, past and present, that have helped to make Kingston Kingston.
