Parkway Trail Consultation

The Parkway Trail will be a pathway connecting the Bath Road end of Queen Mary Road to the south end of Parkway and will formalize a footpath already in existence.

The proposed plans for the Trail include a 2 metre wide link between the two roads. A length of this link — 729 metres — will be stone dust. An asphalt loop of an additional 128 metres will be constructed from the end of Queen Mary North and connect to the stone dust path.

This loop could be used by families to take their relatives at Extendicare out for a stroll and will be made of asphalt to easily accommodate wheelchair use.

Bollards will be put in place at the street ends to prevent cars from using the Trail.

A public open house was held May 21. Comments were accepted until June 4, 2008.

A 2004 Cycling and Pathways Study recommended the construction of a Trail in this area.
