H1N1 Influenza A Information

For the latest on the H1N1 Influenza A (new variant) caused by the H1N1 virus — and for personal precautionary measures — visit the KFL&A Public Health website.

KFL&A Public Health has made it a priority to vaccinate those at high risk for developing complications if they contract the H1N1 virus. See the link to the KFL&A H1N1 Immunization Clinics at right for the free clinic schedule.

THOSE AT HIGH RISK INCLUDE:

  • People under 65 with chronic conditions;
  • Healthy children 6 months to under 5 years of age;
  • Health care workers,
  • Household contacts and care providers of persons at high risk who cannot be immunized or may not respond to vaccines, and
  • Pregnant women.

If you fit this criteria, you are urged to get the vaccine as soon as possible.

The City is working closely with KFL&A Public Health to monitor the situation and implement appropriate action as necessary over the course of this public health concern. The KFL&A's H1N1 Influenza A Info Line at 613-549-5923.
