Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington (FKL&A) Public Health regularly tests local beaches for the presence of E.Coli bacteria during the swimming season. A level of greater than 100 organisms per 100ml of water is considered unsafe for swimming. If unacceptable E.Coli levels persist, the KFL&A Health Unit will close beaches to swimming.
