Smog Advisory Issued For Kingston;
Air Quality Triggers Ban On Burning
Note:
The Environment Ministry terminated this advisory Monday evening, Aug. 17.

The Ontario Ministry of Environment has issued a smog advisory for the Kingston region, warning that poor quality air is forecast for the weekend, Aug. 15-16.
Residents are advised that open-air burning is never permitted in Kingston when smog advisories are in effect.

Dry Conditions Bring back Burning Ban

City fire officials imposed a ban on open-air burning again April 16 as a result of excessively dry conditions throughout the region. The ban applies to all a properties within the City of Kingston until further notice.
