Cold Weather Health Alert Issued
For The Kingston/Frontenac Region

Jan 13/12 > KFL&A Public Health is issuing a cold weather health alert for Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington. According to Environment Canada, temperatures are expected to drop below -15°C later tonight until Monday, January 16, 2012. KFL&A PUBLIC HEALTH WEBSITE.

Planning For Extremely Cold Weather

KFL&A Public Health has a Cold Weather Response Plan that aims to reduce the health impacts and risks associated with cold weather events. The plan uses temperature and wind chill thresholds — predetermined temperatures or wind chill values — to let residents know when the temperature could be harmful. KFL&A PUBLIC HEALTH WEBSITE.

Information On Area Beach Closures

KFL&A Public Health samples water at area beaches from June to September to ensure they are safe for swimming. You can check the status of your favourite beach at the KFL&A Public Health website.
