A Message From Brit Smith And Jayna Hefford

Dear Kingstonians and welcomed visitors:
It is indeed a privilege for us to serve as the Honourary Chairs of the "Let's Build the Kingston Regional Sports and Entertainment Centre Together Campaign."
We have both served the athletic and community goals of this region in very different ways over several generations. Fifty years ago, then Alderman Brit was very involved in the building of the Memorial Centre as a tribute to those who fell and served our Country in World War II, enabling Junior A Hockey to thrive in Kingston. Jayna is a member of Canada's 3 time-medal winning Olympic Women's Hockey team and the 2007 World Champion Canadian Women's Hockey team.
Over the years, Kingston has certainly made its contribution to the worlds of sport and entertainment — and we can all be proud of those who have distinguished themselves in these fields.
We are now, however, at a new crossroads that is setting the course for the next 50 years in our City. The Kingston Regional Sports and Entertainment Centre will be a new monument to community spirit and perseverance and will nurture the dreams of many future hockey players, figure skaters, and aspiring entertainers.
We will also be able to experience new events and performances, and learn and grow from the opportunities the Centre will make possible for citizens of all ages.
We invite you to be part of our new history; please support this project with your donations - and Let's build the Kingston Regional Sports and Entertainment Centre together!
Thank you.
Jayna Hefford & Brit Smith
