What's On at The Wally

The Wally Elmer Neighbourhood Centre is open for drop-in fun and scheduled programming from Monday to Friday.

Community Gardens The Wally Elmer Garden is located in front of the Wally Elmer Neighbourhood Centre. The garden is home to the Organic Gardening and Cooking Workshop and the Kids Pizza Garden. These plots are gardened by participants in related programming and new members are always welcome. Please contact Marijana 613-542-2949 ext. 149 if you would like to garden this year.

On December 7tat 2:30 p.m. children in kindergarten to grade six are invited to a holiday party at the Wally! For only 50 cents, each child can choose 6 gifts for their family and friends. Hotdogs and juice will be served, and a waiting room for parents/guardians will be available.

CRNC meets the third Tuesday of each month (except December 13 April 19; May 17; June 21) at 2:45 p.m. (generally at the Wally Elmer Neighbourhood Centre). All community members are welcome to attend. For more information about CRNC please email crncconcerns@gmail.com.

SENIOR'S CARD GROUP

The Oldtimers ball player's group are moving indoors to continue the camaraderie. The Oldtimers are looking for new members for table games, board games and cards on Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. For information, please contact Ian Edmunds at 613-544-1601.


Adult Writing Group

This is free, drop-in adult writing group designed for each person. Some students are learning business letter skills, others are writing their own books. You may come to one class or come to all. Classes are Wednesday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Ask for Annie.


Better Beginnings for Kingston Children

Better Beginnings for Kingston Children is celebrating 20 years of working with families in our community. If you have been part of BBKC in the past and would like to join our celebration on December 12, 2011 please contact 613-542-2835 to register.


Boys and Girls Club Ball Hockey Program

Wally Elmer Outreach Program (Mondays from 6-8 p.m.)

Our outreach program is a safe, friendly, fun-filled environment where children and youth can play, socialize, learn, and grow through a variety of quality programs. We offer programs like: arts and crafts, sports, snack, nutrition, science, drama, and much more! For further information please contact Heather or Daniella at 613-561-3777.

The Boys and Girls Club Hockey Program (Wednesdays from 3-5 p.m.)

The program begins December 7th, 2011 and will run until March Break. The goal of the hockey program is to provide kids with an opportunity to learn skills, play games and most of all have fun. Get your Game Face on! Ages 6-17 years

Whether you're into Sports, Rock Band, crafts, Foosball or just hanging out, the Game Face Games Room has something for you!

Game Face Drop-in programs will operate throughout the winter at various times (see calendar) and include a variety of crafts, sports, video and table games, outings and other activities for various age groups. Kids and youth are welcome to participate any time as long as it's their age group time, and that they are respectful of the equipment, other kids and staff. Game Face also offers a Homework club, and a special activity time for homework club participants afterwards.

Girls Inc. After School Program at the Wally!

We would like to invite all girls in grades 2 to 8 to participate in fun and interactive activities after school.We will include such activities as cooking, dance, martial arts, sports, crafts and more. This program is taking place now at the Wally Elmer Neighbourhood Centre from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Registration forms can be picked up and dropped off at the Wally Elmer Neighbourhood Centre, or downloaded from the website, www.girlsinclimestone.ca. Your form must be completed and returned before you attend.
