Civic Service Of Remembrance Order of Service

The City of Kingston's Civic Service of Remembrance will take place at the Cross of Sacrifice at King and Barrie Streets on November 11. Community, Veteran and military groups will be laying their wreaths at the Cross of Sacrifice starting at 9:30 a.m. ahead of the civic ceremony on Remembrance Day.

The Civic Ceremony is set to start at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, at the Cross of Sacrifice at King and Barrie Streets (by Murney Tower) and will wrap up at 11:15 a.m. The Kings Town School Choir, made up of children from grades 4 to 6, will perform during the service.

Accessible seating is available for those who require it. Programs will be distributed in both French and English at the service.

Spectators are invited to place their poppy on the People's Wreath at the conclusion of the service.

The Civic Service of Remembrance will air on TV Cogeco at 8:30pm on November 11, and will be repeated at 2:30pm on November 12.

WREATH LAYING CEREMONIES

Wreath Laying by Community and Military Groups will precede the Civic Service beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The Community Group Wreath Laying will begin at 9:30 a.m. All those laying a wreath must contact the Poppy office in advance, and must arrive to pick up their wreaths at the poppy truck by no later than 9:15 a.m.

The Military and Veterans groups Wreath Laying will begin at 10:15 a.m., and will proceed until the Marching On of the Colour Party at 10:45 a.m. Groups must pick up their wreaths by no later than 10 a.m.
