2009 Sheep Dog Trials Schedule And Activities
Aside from the dog trials themselves, which run all day, you'll be treated to a host of side attractions and unique local culinary delights that will make this event one the entire family will enjoy!
SHEEP DOG TRIALS & THE BORDER COLLIE
A sheep dog trial is the ultimate test of the Border Collie and its training. Trials test the skills that farm or ranch dogs require to perform their daily work. The dog and the handler must work together for many years to develop these skills.
The trial takes place over the three days with finals on the Sunday afternoon.
This year's judges are: Dennis Birchall who will travel all the way from Ireland, and Haley Howard who comes to us from sunny California.
