On Sunday, November 29, bring your family and friends to Pioneer Christmas, a charming and
festive event at the beautiful rural location of the MacLachlan Woodworking Museum. Try
your hand at trades of the past, and make your own traditional toy, candle and tree
ornaments at this fun-filled family event.

Recreation Program Registration Begins Dec. 1
Sign up for swim lessons, school break camps, hip hop classes, skating lessons, group
cycling, yoga fit, badminton, volleyball, cake decorating and more. Registration for
activities at all locations begins 9 a.m on Tuesday, Dec. 1. You can register in person
seven days a week at Artillery Park Aquatic and Fitness Centre, 76 Ordnance St., and the
INVISTA Centre, 1350 Gardiner's Rd., or 24 hours a day online via eCity/Registration.

affordable programs for the month of November to get all members of the family excited for
the holidays. You can celebrate through exploring the shapes of the winter season in the
Mom & Tot Program, spread cheer with homemade arts and crafts or have fun amongst your
friends and family at an exciting and traditional Pioneer Christmas event.

New Museum Exhibit Honours Its Founder

A new exhibit honouring Alexander 'Sandy' Grant MacLachlan, the founder of the MacLachlan
Woodworking Museum, will open on September 2. With the assistance of many friends and
family, this new exhibit features artifacts and documents from Sandy's original museum
collections, photos from his life, and an interactive audio 'discussion board'

Take A Walk In Sir John A.'s Footsteps

On Canada Day, Mayor Harvey Rosen will announce the upcoming launch of "In Sir John A.'s
Footsteps" — a self-guided walking tour celebrating the life and times of Kingston's
most revered citizen Sir John Alexander Macdonald, the Father of Confederation. The audio
accompaniment for the tour, voiced by the Right Honourable Jean Chretien.

2009-2010 Grand Theatre Presents Line-Up

An exciting season of renowned artists from across the globe was revealed to Grand Theatre
volunteers, subscribers, donors and sponsors in a special event today. The City of
Kingston's Cultural Director Brian McCurdy has curated a line-up of 30 brilliant
performances and 6 education productions in both English and French for the 09-10 Grand
Theatre Presents season.
