Bistro Furniture, More Bike Racks
Added To Springer Market Square

As of this weekend, portable bistro tables, chairs and green umbrellas will be added to
Springer Market Square inviting Kingstonians and visitors to bask in the bustle and
excitement of this historic space seven days a week — including on Kingston Public
Market days.

Market Wing Adds Washrooms, Locker Rooms

The Market Wing of City Hall is now open to the public. Renovation work to add new fully
accessible washrooms, change rooms and locker rooms for the skating public and performers
is now complete.

Springer Market Square Marker Unveiled

To commemorate the revitalization of Springer Market Square, the 2008 First Capital Day
celebrations included the official unveiling ceremony of the Square's marker outlining its
history and an accompanying plaque recognizing those who generously contributed toward
this project.

Fountain Flows After November 9 Unveiling

The new fountain in Kingston's Springer Market Square came to life November 2006 with a
lunch-time ceremony to celebrate the end of the second phase of construction for this key
city project. Kingston Mayor Harvey Rosen officially activated the fountain to let the
water flow in the square's southeast corner at King and Market streets.
