Off-Leash Parks Amenities

Below are lists of the amenities available at each of the City's off-leash dog parks.

MEMORIAL CENTRE SITE

Current amenities:

  • Accessible parking space and accessible across existing paved surface to gated area.
  • Long linear paved portion in centre of off leash area makes this the most accessible for overall use.
  • Parking
  • Paved area inside the dog park allowing wheelchair access (paved area is large enough for 1 vehicle)
  • Shaded area (canopy) over bench and pavement area
  • Garbage containers
  • Two double gated entries with pavement at each end of the park (Gates are 4 feet wide)
  • Latch system located at 36 inches in height
  • Benches
  • April 4, 2011: work will begin on a permanent shelter to keep dog owners dry and shaded.

MEADOWBROOK PARK SITE

Current amenities:

  • 3.5m accessible asphalt path from parking area to gate (accessible height latching mechanism)
  • Asphalt path leads through double gated access to accessible bench within the park.
  • Parking has accessible space.
  • 4 feet chain link fence
  • 1 double gated entry with concrete pad
  • Gate is 4 feet wide
  • Latch system located at 39 inches in height
  • Bench
  • Garbage containers

ROTARY PARK

Current amenities:

  • 3.5m accessible asphalt path from parking area to gate (accessible height latching mechanism)
  • Asphalt path leads through double gated access to accessible bench within the park.
  • Woodchip /mulch over much of the play area.
  • Parking — Accessible parking space in existing lot.
  • 4 feet chain link fence
  • 1 double gated entry with concrete pad (Gate is 4 feet wide)
  • Bench
  • Garbage containers
  • Trees for shaded area

MCLEAN TRAIL PARK

Current amenities:

  • 2.75m accessible asphalt path from parking area to gate (accessible height latching mechanism)
  • Asphalt path leads through double gated access to accessible bench within the park.
  • Woodchip /mulch over much of the play area.
  • New parking and accessible space on east lot approved by KMHC.
  • Existing accessible spaces (2) in current library parking lot.
  • 4 feet chain link fence
  • 1 double gated entry with concrete pad (Gate is 4 feet wide)
  • Bench
  • Garbage containers
  • Some trees for shaded area
