THE SKATE PARK AT THE WALLY
CRNC and the City intend to build a 7,500 to 12,000 square foot concrete facility that will include a street course as well as classic skateboarding elements.
CRNC and the City met with skateboarders at a March 5, 2011, design workshop to gather input on design elements for a new skateboard park to be built at the Wally Elmer Neighbourhood Centre. The workshop, at Rideau Heights Public School, was lead by renowned skateboard park designer Jim Barnum of Spectrum Skatepark Creations Ltd. The City will incorporate the ideas generated at the workshop and work with consultants Spectrum Skatepark Creations Ltd. and Stantec Inc. to develop draft concept plans for the park.
