Hot Chocolate Fundraisers Boost P.R.O. Kids

P.R.O. Kids would like to thank Kingston Brewing Company, KFL&A Public Health, and our event volunteers for their help with our hot chocolate fundraisers held at the Jingle Bell Walk and K-Town Countdown events. Between the two events, we raised $1,075.46 with $816.27 being raised just at the New Year's Eve event. 100% of P.R.O. Kids donations are directed towards the community recreation program registration fees of Kingston children and youth aged 0-18 lacking sufficient financial resources.

P.R.O. Kids Champion Has Retired

After 35 years of working for the City's Recreation Services, Bill Reason has retired as Recreation Program Coordinator. He intends to continue volunteering with various city events, P.R.O. Kids and Community Response to Neighbourhood Concerns (CRNC) in the city's north end. Over the course of his career, Reason has helped close to 2,000 youngsters. In lieu of gifts at his retirement party, he requested donations to PRO Kids or CRNC and collected more than $3,000 for his favourite causes. Denita Dyck has taken over as Assistant Supervisor, Recreation Programs (Community Development).
