HEATING STANDARDS

Property Standards Bylaw 2005-100 states that landlords responsible for heating accommodations are required to supply heat from Sept. 15 to June 1. The minimum air temperature in the dwelling must be 21.1°C (70°F). For information or to report a complaint, please contact the City's Property Standards Office at 546-4291, ext. 3246.

SMOKING CURBED
AT RIDEAUCREST

Regulations of the Smoke Free Ontario Act took effect May 31, 2006. In addition to banning smoking in all enclosed workplaces, the Act prohibits smoking within a nine-metre radius of the entrance to a health-care facility. Visitors are prohibited from smoking anywhere on the grounds.
