TENANTS, LANDLORDS:
HEATING STANDARDS

The City's Property Standards By-law 2005-100 states that landlords who are responsible for heating any living accommodation are required to supply adequate heat from Sept. 15 to June 1. The minimum air temperature in the dwelling must be 21.1°C (70°F). For more information or to report a complaint, please contact the City's Property Standards Office at 546-4291, ext. 3246.

SMOKING CURBED
AT RIDEAUCREST

Regulations of the Smoke Free Ontario Act that took effect May 31, 2006, changed smoking rules at Rideaucrest Home. In addition to banning smoking in all enclosed workplaces, the Act prohibits smoking within a nine-metre radius of the entrance to a health-care facility. At Rideaucrest, visitors are prohibited from smoking anywhere on the grounds.
