Roll on the Runway on May 12

Bring your family, an item for donation to the food bank and your bicycle, skateboard, wheelchair, stroller, scooter, in-lines skates or walking shoes and walk or roll on the Kingston Airport's runway. KFL&A Public Health has organized Rolling on the Runway for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 12. Enter a ballot and you could win a FREE airplane ride from the Kingston Flying Club. Kingston Airport Looks Towards Expansion

The City of Kingston has engaged an experienced firm (LPS Avia, of Ottawa) to help guide it in deciding on what facility improvements would best serve its interests in providing good, reliable air access to/from Kingston. By November, 2011, the firm is scheduled to provide a market analysis, infrastructure review to meet the needs of potential airlines and a business case that would help the City make informed decisions on possible enhancements.

Just Checking In? Here Are Some Tips

Passengers should arrive at the Kingston Airport at least one hour before their flight to allow enough time to check-in and to process through pre-board screening. However, this is an estimate and may vary depending on many factors. For information on specific flights times please check with Air Canada Jazz at 888-422-7533.

Canada Updates Luggage/Carry-On Security

Transport Canada has amended security requirements for passengers who may need to bring limited quantities of liquids, gels and aerosols onboard aircraft. Passengers will be permitted to bring such materials through security screening at Canadian airports provided that the items are in containers of 100 ml (3.4 oz.) or less. The containers must fit comfortably in one clear, closed and resealable plastic bag with a capacity of no more than 1 litre (1 quart).  MORE ...
