Winter Parking Restrictions: Starting Dec. 1, parking is prohibited on City streets from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. The Winter Parking Bylaw ensures that cars are kept off the streets so that snow plows can effectively respond to winter weather events. Car owners who violate the bylaw, risk receiving a fine of up to $40, or possibly having their vehicle towed. The parking prohibition remains in place until the end of March. MORE ...

Collects Record Number Of Toys

Dec 16/09 > This year's Toys for Tickets program has collected more toys than ever — 380 of them representing $5,090 in parking fines. Kingston motorists took advantage of this year's two-day extension to pay for their parking tickets with toys. Parking, Traffic, Transit Strategies Reviewed

The City of Kingston, in conjunction with Queens University, KGH, Hotel Dieu, and the Downtown BIA, have conducted a comprehensive review of traffic, parking and transit conditions in the area south of Concession Street and east of Sir John A. Macdonald Boulevard., resulting in a short- and long-term plan of action that deals with these needs over the next 15 years.
