Parking Options In Kingston
The City of Kingston Parking Operations manages approximately 3,700 parking spaces including 2,300 at more than 20 municipal parking lots located in the downtown area. Parking Operations also oversees approximately 1,400 on-street parking spaces while the City's Bylaw Enforcement department is responsible for issuing parking tickets and administering parking fines.
METERED PARKING/ PAY & DISPLAY
Metered parking is available throughout the City and downtown core, both on-street and in some parking lots. The maximum length of stay at meters varies between 1 and 3 hours. The cost for metered parking varies between $1 an hour and $1.50 an hour.
Please note: Vehicles may not be parked at meters longer than the maximum time allotted, even if you have paid for extra time — you must move your vehicle. The set fine for "plugging the meters" is $25. The maximum length of stay posted helps to ensure that more people have the opportunity to use convenient, on-street parking spots. If you require a longer stay, please park your vehicle in an attended lot or garage.
OFF-STREET PARKING: GARAGES & LOTS
Attended parking garages offer the convenience of longer-term parking than metered or on-street options. The cost for off-street parking is $1/hr.
Please note: When exiting attended parking garages or lots after hour's drivers are required to deposit $2 (loonies or toonies only). Attended lots offer First Hour Free parking when attendant is on duty.
ON-STREET PARKING IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS
On-street parking is available in residential areas subject to restrictions. Please look for posted time restrictions.
