Traffic Calming Study Of Various Streets

A majority of residents on the affected sections of seven streets have voted in favour of adding speed humps to calm traffic in their neighbourhoods.

The following streets will have speed humps installed between September and the end of the year:

  • McEwen Drive (north of Henderson) - 73 per cent in favour
  • MacDonnell Street - 88 per cent in favour
  • Waterloo Drive - 68 per cent in favour
  • Rideau Street - 98 per cent in favour
  • Mona Drive - 68 per cent in favour
  • Greenwood Park Drive (Rose Abbey to Rainbow) - 74 per cent in favour
  • Lakeview Avenue (south of Henderson) - 61 per cent in favour

In order for the City to proceed with the traffic-calming measures, a minimum of 51 per cent of the homes in an affected area needed to respond to the traffic calming survey - and 60 per cent of those who responded had to indicate they were in favour of the measures.

NO MEASURES FOR CONACHER, SUTHERLAND AND ROSE ABBEY DRIVES

Traffic-calming measures will not go ahead on these surveyed streets because fewer than 51 per cent of affected residents responded to the survey: Conacher Drive, Sutherland Drive and Rose Abbey Drive (Maureen to Grenadier).

Details on the votes and the measures are available below.
