What Goes In Your Blue Box

CHECK YOUR PLASTICS'S RECYCLABILITY

Image: A blue box.

Like you, the City sorts its garbage separating out its recyclables. The City now collects all plastic food and beverage containers and rigid plastic packaging. This includes ALL numbered plastics (#1-7), plastics with multiple numbers and plastics with no numbers.

Please note, plastic bags belong in the Grey Box.

GLASS BOTTLES AND JARS

Place clean glass bottles and jars loose inside the blue box. Do not bag glass.

Do not include broken glass, window panes, mirrors, lightbulbs, ceramics or drinking glasses.

PLASTIC/STYROFOAM CONTAINERS

Leave caps on plastic containers. Place clean plastic food and beverage containers loose in the blue box. Do not bag plastics or styrofoam.

We accept plastic food, beverage and other household containers and rigid packaging including pop bottles, juice bottles, shampoo bottles, Styrofoam, plastic lids, tubs, cartons, trays, clamshell containers and other plastic packaging.

We do not accept popcorn styrofoam. Styrofoam protective packaging pieces must be no larger than 36" x 24" x 8".

ALUMINUM AND STEEL CANS

Place clean metal food and beverage cans loose inside the blue box. This now includes paper cans with metal ends (i.e. coffee cans, chip cans, nut cans, frozen juice cans, etc.) Do not bag metal cans.

Metal lids can be placed inside a can and pinched shut. Labels do not need to be removed.
