05/15: Public To Look At Cultural Heritage, Tourism Strategy

The City is holding a public meeting to provide an overview of the Integrated Cultural Heritage Strategy and Cultural Tourism Strategy, being developed as part of the implementation of the Kingston Culture Plan.

05/15: John Counter Boulevard Projects Kick Into High Gear

Work is now well underway to widen John Counter Boulevard (JCB) from two lanes to four between Division Street and Sir John A. Macdonald Boulevard - and residents may notice that there is also some construction at the City's JCB campus. Improvements to a number of City properties in this area are being coordinated with the widening of this stretch of the roadway, scheduled to be under construction during 2012 and 2013.

05/14: Rain Barrels To Be Home-delivered - While They Last

Starting today, Utilities Kingston will once again offer 1000 rain barrels for sale to its customers (Utilities Kingston account holders only) - while quantities last.

The Victoria Day holiday, Monday, May 21, will create some schedule changes to municipal services:

05/11: Kingston Hosts Town Gown Leaders From Across Ontario

Kingston is proud to host the Town Gown Association of Ontario's annual symposium taking place this week. More than 100 representatives from municipalities, colleges, universities, student and neighbourhood associations from across the province are participating to share best practices and learn how to improve town-gown relationships.

05/11: Planned Power Outage Postponed To May 28

The planned power outage for Monday, May 14, is being postponed until Monday, May 28. Customers in the areas listed below will experience a power outage from 10 p.m. on Monday, May 28, until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29.

Young Frankenstein comes alive at Kingston's Grand Theatre on May 24.

05/09: Students Invited To Discover Kingston's Museums

Educators are invited to pack up the kids and get on the bus. The Pump House Steam Museum, MacLachlan Woodworking Museum and Kingston City Hall are opening their doors to welcome student groups for field trips.

05/08: City Posts 40 Km/h Speed Signs In 10 School Zones

Following approval of the move by Council, new 40 km/h speed limit signs have now been posted within 10 Kingston school zones to calm traffic in the vicinity of 13 schools. The City will be considering posting the 40 km/h speed limit signs in additional school zones in 2013.
