Bike or take Kingston Transit free to Princess St. Promenade
August 3, 2017 -
Take your bike or Kingston Transit (it's free!) to Downtown Kingston's Princess St. Promenade street festival 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5 on Princess Street between Ontario and Barrie!
- Ride Kingston Transit for free city-wide all day on Saturday. Plan your bus trip with Google Transit (www.KingstonTransit.ca/tripplanner) and track your bus with real-time arrival information using Google Maps or other free transit apps found in the Google Play or Apple Apps stores.
- Park your bike in the City's bicycle corral – a secure, fenced area – located on Wellington Street between Princess and Brock.
"Make getting there part of the fun of this great community festival that celebrates our vibrant downtown and the people who love it," says Jeremy DaCosta, general manager of Kingston Transit. "Any of our express routes will take you right into the centre of all the excitement."
This DowntownKingston! event is designed to make Princess Street a pedestrian-friendly, vehicular-free festival zone, to promote the use of active transportation (walking, cycling or riding Kingston Transit) to get downtown. Kingston's main street will be closed 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. from Barrie to Ontario streets.
Retailers, restaurants and other Promenade participants offer activities throughout this day-long event.
