Spend this Canada Day relaxing on the beach, swimming or enjoying some free family fun with us at Grass Creek Park and/or at Confederation Basin!

Events at Grass Creek Park will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with fireworks at Confederation Basin at 10 p.m. The Canada Day civic ceremony will take place at noon on the steps of City Hall and will honour the recipients of this year's Civic Awards.

Ongoing activities at Grass Creek Park include:

  • Hands on Exotics shows (noon and 3 p.m.)
  • Sand sculpture artist, Rodney Watson
  • Meet Chase and Skye from Paw Patrol
  • Face painting and balloon twisting
  • Bubble art with Walter Corsetti
  • DJ and photo booth by Diamond Productions
  • Mini-putt
  • Inflatables
  • Games
  • Wagon rides (from parking area to event site)

At Grass Creek Park, there will be an ATM, food vendors and free parking on-site. Please note that its dog park will be closed on Canada Day.

Kingston Fire and Rescue is encouraging residents to enjoy the City's fireworks display at Confederation Basin instead of hosting their own. If you are celebrating with your own family fireworks show, please read the following tips to help keep your celebration safe:

The events will run rain or shine unless severe weather is expected so dress accordingly. Watch the City's Twitter feed for news of last-minute cancellations due to extreme weather. Don't forget to bring your lawn chair and reusable water bottle for the Utilities Kingston Water Buggy!
