Candidates list for the 2018 municipal election certified
July 31, 2018 -
Nominations for the Oct. 22 municipal and school board elections closed at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 27 and the clerk for the City of Kingston has made the list of candidates official.
"This is shaping up to be an exciting election for Kingston. Not just because we have a great roster of candidates, but also because of the referendum question regarding ranked ballot voting. Regardless of who they vote for, Kingstonians will also be deciding how future mayors and district councillors are chosen," says John Bolognone, city clerk and returning officer.
The certified list of candidates and more information about rank ballot voting are available at CityofKingston.ca/Elections.
Candidates and voters are welcome to visit or contact the Elections Office in City Hall with their election-related questions (firstname.lastname@example.org or 613-546-4291, ext. 1430).
Residents are reminded to check the Voter's List at VoterLookup.ca to ensure their information is correct in advance of the October voting period. Online voting is available from Oct. 13 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 22, 2018 with advanced polls open on Oct. 13.
