null Celebrate spring at City's greenhouse

February 3, 2020 -

Spring has sprung at the City’s greenhouse! Stop by Sunday afternoons from Feb. 9 to March 8 and enjoy all that the greenhouse has to offer.

The greenhouse, located at 111 Norman Rogers Dr. (across from Centennial Public School), will be open for free visits from 2 to 4 p.m. on Feb. 9, 16, 23, and March 1 and 8.

“We’re hoping to see a great turnout this year as we open the doors to the City’s greenhouse once again,” says Troy Stubinski, Operations Manager, Public Works. “If you’re looking for a fun activity on a cold Sunday afternoon, come visit and enjoy.”

Spring bulbs and tropical plants will be on display, including daffodils, orchids, tulips and hyacinths. In a few months, staff will begin planting around the City in various parks, walkways and green spaces. Greenhouse staff will also be on hand to answer questions during the visits.

Fostering healthy citizens and vibrant spaces is one of the City’s strategic priorities.
