Check your smoke alarms: Kidde issues recall for its dual-sensor smoke alarms

March 22, 2018 -

Kingston Fire and Rescue urges you to check your smoke alarms to see if they are Kidde Dual-Sensor Smoke Alarms. Kidde is recalling its dual-sensor smoke alarms (models PI2010 and PI9010) as they may fail to alert residents if there is a fire.

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission website states that a yellow cap left on the alarms during manufacturing may compromise its ability to detect smoke.  For more information on what to do if you have one of the alarms, go to www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" or call Kidde toll-free at 833-551-7739.

These smoke alarms were widely sold from September 2016 through January 2018.
