null City’s newest splash pad opens June 4 in Woodbine Park
May 24, 2016 -
Kingston's newest splash pad is set to open in Woodbine Park on Saturday, June 4. Families are invited to join city councillors to celebrate the grand opening, which runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1180 Woodbine Rd. in the city's west end.
"The new splash pad at Woodbine Park is interactive and accessible. Fun new spray features will keep children and families active and cool this summer," says Neal Unsworth, manager, parks development, recreation and leisure services.
"Woodbine Park's new splash pad is a great addition to other amenities at the park like the BMX track, play structures and sports fields," adds Unsworth.
Grand opening festivities kick off at 11 a.m. with speeches and ribbon-cutting ceremony with City councillors Lisa Osanic, Richard Allen, Kevin George, Adam Candon and Laura Turner.
The first 100 guests will receive a free hot dog and drink. One child in attendance will be chosen at random to start the splash pad.
The rain date for the grand opening is Saturday, June 11.
