City and Kingston Transit extend call for artist Pop Ups during Culture Days 2017
August 30, 2017 -
Performing artists are encouraged to apply and perform Sept. 29 – Oct. 1, 2017.
Deadline for applications: Sept. 8, 12 p.m.
The City of Kingston and Kingston Transit want to connect arts, culture and people throughout the city during Culture Days 2017 and are seeking proposals from artists, creators, collectives and performers in all media to present Pop Ups on Kingston Transit buses and at stops/transfer points during Culture Days 2017. All proposals are to be submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Culture Days Pop Ups will take place on transit busses and at transit stops and transfer points throughout Kingston. These PopUps aim to showcase the variety of arts and culture that take place in Kingston. Proposals should take into consideration that the Pop Ups will be presented in public spaces, are intended to showcase arts and culture across Kingston, and invite participation. Each Pop Up will be paired with a Culture Days volunteer to assist the artists/creators and to answer public inquiries.
Kingston-based emerging and established artists and creators are encouraged to submit a proposal via email to email@example.com no later than 12 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8 to present a Pop Up performance during Culture Days 2017 (Sept. 29, 30 and Oct. 1). All media will be considered but must be appropriate to public presentation, encourage fun and invite participation. There is an honorarium of $125 per performance hour, up to a maximum of four hours throughout Culture Days. Please note this is the total budget for your Pop Up, regardless of the number of artists participating in the Pop Up.
For complete proposal requirements, details and questions, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 613-546-4291, ext. 1158 for details. All proposal requirements must be included for proposal to be considered.
