Municipal offices closed Monday, transit to run on Sunday service

The Labour Day holiday on Monday, Sept. 2 will create some schedule changes to municipal services:

Kingston Transit: All buses will run on a Sunday schedule on Monday.  Plan your bus trip using the Trip Planner at www.kingstontransit.ca/tripplanner.

Kingston Access Services: operates on all statutory holidays with limited service. Trip requests accepted until September 1 during regular office hours.  For more information, please call 613-542-2512.

Garbage, Green Bin and recycling: No collection Monday and collection moves to the day after your normal pick-up day for the rest of the week. Sign-up at www.CityofKingston.ca/collection to receive collection reminders by phone, email or text.

PLEASE NOTE: residents may put out two-untagged bags or containers of garbage on their first garbage collection after Labour Day (starting September 3).  This is one of three weeks a year the City collects an extra untagged bag or container of garbage.

Administrative Offices: All administrative offices, including community and family services, housing and provincial offences are closed Monday.

Utilities Kingston and Kingston Hydro: Closed Monday. In the event of a utility emergency, such as a gas smell, power outage or a water main break, call the Utilities Kingston 24-hour number at 613-546-1181. (Hydro One electricity customers in Kingston's east and west ends call 1-800-434-1235. Union Gas customers the east and west ends call 1-877-969-0999.)

Kingston Area Recycling Centre: Closed Monday.

Beechgrove Complex Recreational Centre: Closed Monday

SCOTT Aqua Park: Open.

Splash Pads: Open.

Wading Pools: Close for the season August 31.

INVISTA Centre: Closed.

INVISTA Fitness & Wellness Centre: Closed Monday.

CaraCo Home Field: Open for booked users Monday.

Arenas: Closed Monday.

Wally Elmer Youth Centre: Closed Monday.

Libraries: All branches of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library will be closed.

Portsmouth Olympic Harbour: The marina office and fueling stations are open. 

Grand Theatre Box Office: Closed Monday.

Oakwood Day Care: Closed Monday.
