City announces results of 2014 municipal election

October 30, 2014 -

More than 35,856 – or 39.5 per cent – of Kingstonians voted in this year's municipal election.  Here are the results.

Ballot Question

Are you in favour of a casino being located in the City of Kingston?

  • Yes – 33 per cent
  • No – 67 per cent

As less than 50 per cent of the electorate voted, these results are not binding on the new Council. 

Mayor

  • Bryan Paterson was elected with 38 per cent of the vote.

City Councillors

  • Countryside District #1 – Richard Allen was elected.
  • Loyalist-Cataraqui District #2 – Kevin George was re-elected.
  • Collins-Bayridge District #3 – Lisa Osanic was re-elected.
  • Lakeside District #4 – Laura Turner was elected.
  • Portsmouth District #5 – Liz Schell was re-elected.
  • Trillium District #6 – Adam Candon was elected.
  • Kingscourt-Rideau District #7 – Mary Rita Holland was elected.
  • Meadowbrook-Strathcona District #8 – Jeff McLaren was elected.
  • Williamsville District #9 – Jim Neill was re-elected.
  • Sydenham District #10 – Peter Stroud was elected.
  • King's Town District #11 – Rob Hutchison was re-elected.
  • Pittsburgh District #12 – Ryan Boehme was elected.

English Language Public School Board Trustees

  • Countryside, Pittsburgh & Frontenac Islands – Elaine M. Crawford was elected.
  • Loyalist-Cataraqui, Collins-Bayridge & Lakeside – Tom Mahoney was elected.
  • Portsmouth, Trillium & Meadowbrook-Strathcona – David Jackson was acclaimed.
  • Williamsville & Sydenham – Paula Murray was acclaimed.
  • Kingscourt-Rideau & King's Town – Alec Ross was elected.

English Language Separate School Board Trustees

  • Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board – Gavin Cosgrove, Terry Shea, Kathy Turkington and Catharina Summers were elected.

French Language Public School Board Trustees

  • Le Conseil des écoles publiques de l'Est de l'Ontario - Geographic Region 2 – Rachel Laforest was elected.

French Language Separate School Board Trustee

  • Le Conseil des écoles catholiques de langue française du Centre-Est – Diane Burns was acclaimed.
