City Open House to present Residential Design Guidelines
March 10, 2014 -
The City's Residential Design Guidelines will be presented to the public later this month. The updated and consolidated Guidelines are intended for use by homeowners and developers with residential projects in Kingston's urban and hamlet areas.
An open house is set for 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26 in the Wilson Room at the Central Branch of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library at 130 Johnson St. A presentation will take place at 7 p.m.
"These Guidelines reflect the input of earlier consultations and we look forward to discussing them with the development community and interested members of the public," says Sheldon Laidman, Director, Planning & Development.
Two shorter sets of integrated residential design guidelines have been produced:
- ‘Design Guidelines for Residential Lots' addresses the development of individual lots within their immediate context.
- ‘Design Guidelines for Communities' addresses development on a larger neighbourhood scale.
The Guidelines will be posted for input at www.CityofKingston.ca/getinvolved from March 18 to April 11.
