The civic holiday on Monday, Aug. 5 will create some schedule changes to municipal services:

Kingston Transit: All buses will run on a Sunday schedule on Monday.  Plan your bus trip using the Trip Planner at

Kingston Access Services: operates on all statutory holidays with limited service. Call 613-542-2512.

Garbage, Green Bin and recycling: No collection Monday and collection moves to the day after your normal pick-up day for the rest of the week. Sign-up at to receive collection reminders by phone, email or text.

Administrative Offices: All administrative offices, including community and family services, housing and provincial offences are closed Monday.

Utilities Kingston and Kingston Hydro: Closed Monday. In the event of a utility emergency, such as a gas smell, power outage or a water main break, call the Utilities Kingston 24-hour number at 613-546-1181. (Hydro One electricity customers in City west and east call 1-800-434-1235.)

Kingston Area Recycling Centre: Closed Monday.

Beechgrove Complex Recreational Facility: Closed Monday

SCOTT Aqua Park: Open.

Splash Pads and Wading Pools: Open.

INVISTA Centre: Closed Monday.

INVISTA Centre Fitness & Wellness Centre: Closed Monday.

CaraCo Home Field: Closed Monday.

Arenas: Closed Monday.

Wally Elmer Neighbourhood Centre: Closed Monday.

Libraries: All branches of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library will be closed.

Portsmouth Olympic Harbour: The marina office and fueling stations are open. 

Grand Theatre Box Office: Closed Monday.

Oakwood Day Care: Closed Monday.
