null City Seeks Further Input On Memorial Bench Policy
January 14, 2013 -
"We want to encourage everyone with a connection to a commemoration on a City bench to offer feedback on the proposed policy," says Neal Unsworth, Manager Parks Development. "The current program has been on hold since 2011. Parks in demand, such as waterfront and event parks are at capacity. The proposed policy will allow for shared commemorations on benches and, with a proposed fixed term, will allow for more opportunities for the community in the future." The proposed Memorial Bench Policy recommends:
- New and existing memorial benches accommodate up to two separate commemorations.
- New commemorations have a fixed term of 10 years.
- The cost of a new commemoration be set at $750.
- Existing commemorations be grandfathered for an additional 20 years.
