City seeks input for new park on former Napier Street/St. Joseph and St. Mary school site

April 4, 2018 -

The City of Kingston is seeking input on how to integrate and develop the new parkland beside Churchill Park on the former Napier Street/St. Joseph and St. Mary school site.

"We want to know how people would like to use this new green space and what they would like to see in it," says Neal Unsworth, manager parks development.

Residents are invited to offer input:

  • Wednesday, April 18 at a Get Involved open house and workshop at Winston Churchill Public School, 530 Earl St. (Resource Centre – Room 101).  Drop-in from 6:30 to 7 p.m. and/or attend the presentation and workshop from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Children are welcome to attend and activity bags with colouring books, crayons and activities will be available.
  • By completing an online survey at GetInvolved.CityofKingston.ca running from Wednesday, April 18 to Thursday, May 3 at 4:30 p.m.
  • For any accessibility feedback related to the project please contact the Chanda Sames at csames@cityofkingston.ca (in accordance with Ontario Regulation 191/11).

Last July, council approved the closure of Napier Street between Brock and Mack streets between Churchill Park and the municipally-owned land at 671 Brock St. – the site of the former St. Joseph and St. Mary school.
