null City seeks input on upgrades to Riverview Park
October 2, 2013 -
The City will present two concepts for improvements to Riverview Park at a public information session at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16 in Lower Level Conference Room B at Rideaucrest Home, 175 Rideau St. (attendees must sign-in at the facility's main desk).
Riverview Park, at North and Rideau Streets in the Inner Harbour neighbourhood, has tennis courts and a playground. Upgrades to the tennis courts are proposed in 2014. The public can consider upgrades to the playground as part of this planning exercise.
"We really encourage park users and people from the neighbourhood – including those in Rideaucrest Towers – to come let us know what they think of the proposed upgrades," says Neal Unsworth, Manager of Parks Development. He notes that public input will be used to guide development of the final design.
Construction on the upgrades is scheduled for 2014.
Park design enthusiasts may also be interested in a similar information session at Rideaucrest regarding Friendship Park on Carlisle Street. It is set for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17.
