City Seeks Naming Rights Sponsor For OAC
March 5, 2013 -
The City has issued a Request For Proposal (RFP) for naming rights for its popular Outdoor Aquatic Centre at the Memorial Centre.
"There have been line-ups to get in to this City hot spot ever since it opened two summers ago," says Wally Ferris. "It's a wildly successful facility and it's helped revitalize the Memorial Centre, which has again become the heart and soul of this central part of town. It's a HOT property." He notes that the Centre hosts a full aquatics program and more than 30,000 visitors a season.
Here is the timeline associated with the RFP which was released yesterday and offers potential sponsors negotiable terms, including five to ten-year options, along with first right of refusal:
• Site tour: Wednesday, March 13
• Deadline for submitting questions: Friday, March 15
• Deadline to answer questions: Wednesday, March 20
• Closing date: Wednesday, March 27 (3 p.m.) For more details on the Outdoor Aquatic Centre RFP, please visit http://www.cityofkingston.ca/business/advertising-opportunities
The Outdoor Aquatic Centre is adjacent to the Kingston Memorial Centre at 303 York St. and has frontage on both Alfred and York Streets.
This summer fun spot for families and tourists has shaded patio and picnic areas, an outdoor play park and plenty of parking. The soon-to-be-renamed Outdoor Aquatic Centre also features: a 270 foot linear water slide; toddler pool; 18-station splash pad; beach entry pool with a lazy river water feature along with the Leo Lafleur four-lane pool with diving platforms and one-meter board!
