City seeks workers for 2014 Municipal Election

Interested in working for the 2014 municipal election?
The Election Office is now accepting employment applications for Site Supervisors, Deputy Returning Officers, Revision Officers, Machine Operators and Demonstrators to work at voting locations.
The City is seeking election workers to work on Advance Voting Day, Saturday, Oct. 18 and on Voting Day, Monday, Oct. 27. Successful applicants will be required to attend a mandatory training session which will be scheduled during the first two weeks of October.
"Please consider applying to work at a voting location this election. This year we are seeking applicants with strong computer skills because of the new technology the City is introducing at the polls." says Kevin Arjoon, Assistant Returning Officer.
Application forms, detailed job descriptions and a full list of qualifications can be found via the Employment button at www.CityofKingston.ca/elections.
Applicants must submit their forms in person to the Election Office at City Hall, 216 Ontario St. where they will be asked to complete an open book exam within 45 minutes. The submission deadline is 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5.
The positions offer the following rates of pay (the training session is included in this fee):
- Site Supervisors – $250 per day
- Deputy Returning Officer – $200 per day
- Machine Operators – $175 per day
- Revision Officers – $150 per day
- Demonstrators – $110 per day
